Today, we are reviewing Sue Hooley’s Daily Planner for 2016. If you remember from last year, we also reviewed the 2015 planner and loved it! You can read that review by clicking here.
The 2016 Daily Planner is done up with beautiful design and dazzling covers. This year the color is green. I like how she changes the color theme every year, yet still makes it come out appealing to us housewives.
2016 Planner Description from Homemaker’s Depot
The Homemaker’s Friend Daily Planner was designed by Sue Hooley. The planner was developed after several years of motherhood and homemaking. Sue understood that a homemaker’s day can rarely be scheduled and structured the same as the one before, nor can every task fit neatly into the time-slot allotted by other planners. Since her first publication in 2010, thousands of homemakers have benefited from the daily planner.
The Planner is spiral bound for easy use and the cover is laminated for durability. Two pockets included. It has seven sectional tabs as follows:
-
An overview of the year by month.
-
Two-page spreads for entries each month.
-
Two-page spreads for entries each week. This allows you to sketch out an entire week, day by day.
-
A section to enter projected tasks.
-
A section to enter specific projects.
-
A section to keep a listing of personal contact information.
-
A perforated shopping list section allows you to take the list with you.

I can’t remember how I found your site, but I am glad I did! I always love to see your beautiful Idaho. The scenery is so much different than where we live. You have a beautiful family. Your words are always refreshing. Thanks!

I found your blog while searching for trying to find ladies who believe in modesty and head covering. I love this planner and would be grateful to win it.

I think I found your blog through someone’s favorite blog list 🙂 I tried your marinara sauce a few years back..maybe 3-4?…and have made it a couple years since too! My daughter just told me I needed to go back to a paper planner instead of relying on the calendar on my phone so that she can see our plans easily too. So this would be a fun giveaway to win for both of us! Thanks for the opportunity!

I was typing in Life in the Shoe (another Mennonite blog 🙂 ) and this was one of the Google results. I think I just clicked on it out of curiosity, but then I figured out that I was at Bible School with Lowell’s sister (she was my dormie) so I feel a little connection and am following. 🙂
Kendra says
Now I’m curious which sister! 🙂

Jeanie. 🙂 I also took an interesting class about Hebrew language & culture, taught by Donavon, a few years later.

Don’t remember how I found your blog, but it’s a refreshing place to visit. Feeling overwhelmed at times with being a Mom to 5 children and being a minister’s wife… maybe this planner would help:)

Hi! I signed up for your newsletter about a month ago. I learned about from Shari Zook’s blog and your grief book giveaway. I’ve never met either of you, but love to stay connected with inspiring women like you! Thank you!

I don’t really remember where I found out about your blog. Pinterest maybe??? Anyway I just wanted to say I’ve had this planner for 2 years, and it is great! I’m embarrassed to say that this year I went with another planner, and I’ve regretted it every since. The homemakers friend planner has me so spoiled that I’m just not satisfied with my current planner. My #1 favorite feature is all the writing space in the back. I also love the shopping list and the weekly to do section, and of course the scripture.
Kendra says
Thank you for that review on it! I agree that it is a great planner.

I like how you address the difficult topics along with the homey things on your blog! You speak up for concerns for the church. We need to live in the world and not be part of it. What a challange, sometimes harder than others. As far as the planner, I tried one when I bought one on clearance a number of years ago. I am not the type to use it rigidly on a daily basis but I do use it for schedules, appointments, and busy times. It is a help to me.
Kendra says
Thanks for the encouragement!

Probably discovered your blog through someone else’s. I really enjoy Sue’s daily planner. Been using for several years now.

My mom actually told me about your blog! Your posts inspire me to be the best mom and wife I can be! I have great problems with being inefficient and disorganized so would love to get the planner whether by winning or by buying it from Sue! 🙂
Lesa McMahon says
I found you by having Google Alerts track when there are giveaways for Sue’s planner. 🙂 I love her planner. It’s the best I’ve ever used.

I found your blog through a link on another blog. (Been too long to remember who it was though.) Realized that I knew you ‘once upon a time ‘. I lost your blog and then found it again through another blog, maybe Home Joys blog. Anyway, been following ever since. Love your perspective on raising boys!
I have this planner for the first time this year. I keep important info and keepsake info in it besides the daily planning.
