Just a glimpse of the fun we’ve had this summer . . .
Two clowns and rice krispies.
Kitten Joey is one spoiled cat. Wyatt usually pulls on his pajamas and runs to find Joey first thing in the morning!
Boys and fishing.
Little boys, airplanes . . . and chocolate kisses.
How many blondes does it take to fix a fishing pole?
To keep from being injured, you might not wish to answer that.
Sometimes we just lounge around.
Or sometimes we eat on the porch!
Even mighty hunters need some target practice.
Next to gardening, I love hanging my wash on the clothesline. Some days when I am feeling deficient in it, I will even offer to hang the children’s wet laundry out for them.
And then I have the audacity to ask: “Am I not a sweet mom?” To which they must reply in the affirmative.
I love my gardens. They are so much more than dirt and plants to me.
It is here where I come to meet God many times.
Where a sinful soul meets the High and Holy One.
It is here where I come to the foot of the cross and plead for my soul and the souls of those around me. Where I can echo those long-ago words: “I know two things – I am a terrible sinner . . . and He is a wonderful Savior.”
And as I turn to leave, I bow my head in complete surrender to the King who sits upon the throne of my heart.
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Matthew 5:16
Once the sun sets behind those beautiful Idaho mountains, we go outside – especially if it has been a really hot day. Sometimes we will play ball.
Ok, so the kids played ball. I laid in the grass and took pictures. Much better that way!
One night, the kids and I all got into our pajamas and waited until it was closer to dark . . . then we snuck out and played badminton with our LED birdies!
My team was really bad.
In fact, we ended up all being against Derek. That’s how bad we were. But we had a ball of fun while doing it!
Quite a few evenings, we hop on our bicycles and explore the neighborhood. I love how the day cools off once the sun goes behind the mountains! You always know that a cooler time is coming for some fun, outside activities.
And sunsets like this help me to remember one thing:
Someday I am going Home.
