There’s only one thing better than chocolate and milk.
And that is when you put the two together!
I almost titled this recipe “As Good As Nesquik Chocolate Milk” since our little family voted that it tastes just as good as Nesquik. But I decided that might be a little presumptuous and toned it down one notch.
I’ve been looking for a recipe for chocolate milk powder for a while and finally found one. This makes the best smooth and creamy chocolate milk you can find without buying Nesquik!
You will only need three ingredients to make the powdered milk mix. It really can’t get any easier!
It calls for sugar, cocoa, and salt. (printable recipe below) I like to use Dutch Cocoa from Sharon’s Country Store where you can buy it in bulk.
Dump your sugar, cocoa, and salt into a container that you can put a lid on.
Shake it well. Or hand it to your child and tell them it’s a football . . . it will get shook up real good!
I like to make several recipes and put them in separate baggies for easy chocolate-milk-making later.
Now you will need to dig out your gallon pitcher and put about an inch of hot water in the bottom. Dump in your full recipe of chocolate milk mix and stir until it’s dissolved and no cocoa clumps can be seen. This step is important in coming out with smooth and creamy chocolate milk!
Pour your cold milk into your gallon pitcher. I like to fill my pitcher only about 3/4 full (roughly 3 quarts) since we like our chocolate milk to be good and chocolatey! You can make this a full gallon if you wish.
This shows you how full my pitcher usually is by the time the recipe is complete.
Pour yourself a cold glass of chocolate milk and pretend you’re a kid once again!

Definitely MUST try this recipe! We love chocolate milk here, but don’t like the cost of it by the gallon, and even Nesquick is costly {although we love that too!} I love it when I can make it myself!
