Over the last six months to a year, I have made a startling discovery.
Not all of you are women.
Gulp.
When I’m writing off the top of my head, in others words – without thinking, I almost always am talking to women in my head. So to wrap my mind around the fact that some of you are NOT women, but are indeed men, is rather disconcerting at times.
Once I learned this little fact, I also began to look at our blog a little differently. Do the men have to come and read with one eye while shielding the other eye from all the pink and hearts and “girly” stuff on this blog?!
And now that Lowell actually has a blog post in the drafts, I thought “perhaps it is time to make this blog a little more gender neutral”. So that is what you will see.
However, I am still horribly lacking in all things pink . . . so I am keeping just a wee tiny bit of pink on this blog – way up in the corner! Please, pretty please?
For those of you getting this post in the newsletter, I will try to show you a few of the changes via pictures.
One thing I’m still working on is the link colors. I don’t have the time to figure it out at the moment, but I’ll see if I can’t sit down and change the colors in my stylesheet so that the links are all a different color than the normal text. Makes them easier to spot! I will let you know what colors they are once this is accomplished.
On the homepage, you will find we have recent posts from several different categories listed.
Our latest recipes, children posts and gardening articles will be on the home page too.
One more quick note: if any of you are interested in what the Shoe likes to read,
you can view it in the Shoe’s Library!
To get there, scroll back up to the top of this page and hold your cursor over “Shop”. You should see a couple links fall down off of that and one of those is “The Shoe’s Library.” Congratulations! Now you’ve found your way from the main living room to the library.
This is an a-store made through Amazon affiliate links of the books we like to read or have a desire to. You will find children and adult paperbacks and Kindle books, Bible study helps, and FREE Kindle books.
We even threw in some of our favorite DVDs and board games that keep us entertained on long winter evenings!
Now lest I overload you with too many changes, that’s it for this week, folks!
See you next week.

Some pink is a great idea, I miss the heart though 🙂 .
I wish I could meet you, you are a godly woman that knows how to laugh , that is my style! And thank you for thinking of our husbands who sometimes read with us, mine does, especially about your husband :), he thinks they could get alone just fine!
Keep the good work!
