Some changes are happening here on the blog.
That’s a really weird title. But it is evening and my brain is tired. Yet I wanted to let you all know about some changes that are happening here on the blog.
I have decided to split the Shoe into two different ways. As most of you know, we have posted everything from humor and recipes to pictures to really, really serious stuff regarding the church and our faith.
When I first decided to blog, it was going to be more on our family’s life in Idaho, the children, and the funny things that happen around here. As usually happens, things evolve and change along with our stages in life.
The children are getting older and not quite so willing to let me take pictures to post all over the internet, but they still do it once in a while. However, I want to respect their privacy and self-esteem and so you may have noticed a few less pictures.
We are entering the stage of grown-up discussions . . . which is something I love! This era in our lives is one that I find I am enjoying immensely. I know the teenage years have their struggles, but we are having fun, good talks, and enjoying each other’s company.
So what does that have to do with the blog?
I am going to be splitting off the serious doctrinal and theological posts from the Shoe. Instead, we are putting them on the blog at Truth in Word Publishing – another site we own. I think this will be good for many reasons. Some of you like to read how our family is doing, while others come more for those “faith posts”.
So now Living in the Shoe will be where we post about our lives, our land, our loves, and yes – even our food! The kids might even get into making video tutorials once they have a break from homework and can think up some good ideas.
But all apologetic posts and those pertaining to our faith will be at Truth in Word Publishing. We are in the middle of copying most of those posts from here over to that website. However, the old ones will still remain here as well in case you need to search for something.
If you want to be able to get the posts from Truth in Word Publishing, these are your options:
- You can subscribe to the Truth in Word Publishing newsletter. This will go out when we post new content and posts or when there are sales in the bookstore. You can subscribe here.
- You can follow either Truth in Word Publishing (TIW) or Living in the Shoe on facebook. (links in the titles) I will put the blog post links from TIW on both facebook pages.
- If you are subscribing to the Shoe’s newsletter already, you will find TIW’s blog post links at the bottom of your newsletter – when there are new ones.
Hopefully this won’t make it too complicated for everyone, but we believe this is a good move at this time in our lives!
And before you go . . .
We have a free PDF download of the Bible study methods and resources that we shared with you a couple weeks ago. This is offered at TIW so people can easily print it off to help them get started digging into God’s Word. Lord willing, we may even put out some Bible study courses geared toward women and children . . . but again, that is in the Lord’s hands and in His timing.

Oh Kendra, I spent too much time over the weekend thinking about my childhood growing up in the 60s . Yes I grew up in the hippie era. You see when I was growing up “split” met leave and go somewhere else and I thought ” Why is The Shoe leaving?”
I need to not do that LOL! Anyway, I’m looking forward to the new site. I just added to my blog list so I can get the posts in real time since a new post usually ends up in my inbox a day later with some blog servers.
Will comments be available on the new site? I didnt see a comment button.

Oh I wondered what people would think of that title – but couldn’t think of much else!! 😉 As for the comments, I have them turned off at the moment . . . not sure yet what we will do. But you can always comment here!

Oh it’s okay about the title. I just was revealing my age. Lol. I will comment here then on the posts from the other blog which are very informative.

Hi Kendra – Thank you so much for this wonderful Bible study “guide” book. It just could not have come at a better time in my life. I do have a question – on my page 3 of the PDF file it cuts off in mid sentence and I am wondering what happened to the rest of it. You are talking about the notebook and looking back on the journey and mine ends with the word the. This of course is on my screen and I haven’t printed it out yet but usually whatever is on the screen is what prints. Can you help me?

Thank you for letting me know! I went back and fixed it. Hopefully! 😉 You can download it again if you’d like.
