Christmas is over and the four oldest children have gone back to school. All those things I thought I’d get done on vacation flew out the window and were replaced with sledding, parties, and helping with the onslaught of Christmas mail.
All those other things could wait. I had people to love, mouths to feed, and fun for the taking!
“Ready to go out in the snow, Mom!”
My kitchen table saw many games this vacation.
Christmas was awesome with all the beautiful snow we received just prior to it!
The kids loved being pulled on sleds behind the four wheeler. The field where we live is so much fun for this!
Too much fun. Or too much cold.
I believe this was a game of City Monopoly. In pajamas.
In fact, pajamas were worn so often during vacation, that two of the boys didn’t do their wash for a whole week! Where was their mom?
This old barn sits on our place and we found some of the kids sledding down part of the roof one afternoon.
It looked like lots of fun!!
Winter Wonderland.
Christmas Eve.
The story of the Baby in the manger.
This one is partial to Jeeps – just because his daddy has one!
My kitchen floor became a race track.
The big boys received a scroll saw for Christmas! That first day, they were standing in line to use it. In fact, they used it so much we ran out of wood. So the next evening, the kids and I raided the neighboring cabinet shop’s scrap bin . . . with permission, of course.
I have a beautiful tulip sitting on my windowsill that was made especially for Mom! And I saw a shelf with gorgeous brackets being made down in the basement. I’m thinking this scroll saw might be something I will have to try my hand at sometime.
On Christmas Day, we took the kids sledding – but there were so many pictures that I will have to put them up in another post!

Wonderful post. I love reading of happy holiday and content children. There is a LOT of snow this year. I’m hoping for some melting today.
Blessings,
Betsy

It has been a beautiful winter — and since our fires were so bad last year, I don’t mind the snow! Not yet anyway. 🙂
