Come out of Egypt, My child. If you stay, the sin will creep further into your soul until all purity has been obscured.
Oh but Father, I like Egypt with its glamour and greatness. It sort of fits me and I feel comfortable here. This life is so easy and I’m trying to tell others of You, I really am. I promise to stay away from the sinful areas, but let me keep my beautiful Egypt.
Come out of Egypt, My child. I have called you to live a holy life, above the swampy muck of ungodliness and the putrifying stink of compromise.
But I don’t live in those swamps and I only compromise a little. Just enough to get people to like me — for shouldn’t they like me in order for me to witness to them?
I’m strong enough to live a holy life amid the sin.
Come out of Egypt, My child. Does not the blood I shed mean anything to you? Egypt cannot give you the true desires of your heart, no matter how much they advertise it.
Come out of Egypt, My child, and meet Me in the desert.
There I will draw you unto Myself and speak to you at the burning bush. There you will witness firsthand My awesome power at the top of Mount Sinai and I will show you the future of the Promised Land.
Flee the muck, the stink, and the swamps of sin and compromise and come away with Me.
Yes, Lord. I’m coming.
I choose to leave my Egypt before it invades my soul and the souls of my children.
I choose the desert over the meadows, the dry paths over the bubbling brooks, the manna in the wilderness over the leeks and garlic down in the plains.
I choose a holy life, no matter how laughed at I will be. For there I will find comfort in Your arms, in the shadow of Your wings, and in the palm of Your hand.
I choose to obey You, Father.
I am coming out of Egypt.
