Dear Diary on this snowy Saturday,
I’m sitting in the middle of a “hospital”. The kids have been sleeping in the living room with Lowell gone for several days to a big school board meeting back east. Now their sleeping bags and pillows are subbing for hospital beds.
Somebody was just looking for their barf. Strange day when you can’t find your barf.
Holding the container of pink gak, Dr. Logan stated matter-of-factly that they “tore someone’s heart out.” I’m not sure where his scalpel was because that does not sound like a gentle procedure, in my opinion.
Baby Fat Cheeks has such a bad cold he can’t hardly breathe through his nose. So in between packing and cleaning, we are getting some extra snuggles in.
Sometimes I shake my head in wonder at how God made a mother to love her child in the morning, even after being up most of the night. There’s no humanly possible way to procure those emotions after seeing 1 am, 2 am, 3 am, and 4 am. It had to come from a Creator who knew all the Little Squishies in the world needed some extra love!
I’m immensely happy that my babies don’t think my love too smothering at that age. Because those soft, fat cheeks shout out “kiss me” every time I get near them!

While taking a load of boxes to the new house, Lowell called. I miss him.
Isn’t it a wonderful thing to miss somebody? Being in love will do that to ya. I loved him even more after finding our old anniversary cards yesterday. One of the highlights of moving! You never know what you will find and where you will find it.
He also told me that we are supposed to get between 8-11 inches of snow. That wasn’t very nice of him. I was finally feeling confident running the wood stove without him here . . . and now he tells me there’s snow heading my way.
O spring! Where art thou?
~~~~~~
It’s a funny feeling when your children start to take care of you. I was up at 2 am with the baby and Logan was sleeping on the living room floor. This was around the second time I’d been up already and he must have noticed.
He says, “Mom, you’re not getting much sleep! I think you need to try and get more sleep.”
I’ll have to see if I can work that into my schedule, son.
~~~~~
Oh good. The patient just raced after the nurse, yelling that the missing barf has been found.
Now I will be able to sleep tonight.

Haha…too good! Maybe I’ll have to shadow Dr. Logan for one of my clinical days. 🙂

I have had the same thoughts after a night of very little sleep. The love God gave a mama for her babies is unlike any other!
