If you could turn back the hands of time, would you do it all over again?
Knowing that marriage would bring with it some of your most trying moments . . . . and blessed moments. Pain so deep that all you could do was lean on each other. And joy so full it was magnified just by sharing it.
A faithful spouse is one who’s there when the night is dark and even the moon is hidden from view. They are the one who wraps their arms around you to sit in the inky blackness until you see the sun finally lighting the horizon. Their heart is there to share your pain, your fears . . . and your joy at the morning light.
Faithfulness is encouraging you when you’re down, picking you up when you fall, and holding your hand over the rushing waters. They are there by your side to either sink or swim.
When the battle is raging and accusations come from every side, faithfulness is the one who sticks by you to the bitter end.
Faithfulness is someone who knows you better than you know yourself. Someone who sees where you are weak . . . . and where you are strong. And loves you anyway.
Faithfulness is one who stands strong, even when the other strays. They are the anchor to which the soul of their spouse is tethered. And if it is not fastened tightly to the Rock of Ages, both souls will drift away.
Faithfulness is knowing you can safely trust your heart and life to the one God has given you.
