I went fishing on my honeymoon. Even caught the biggest fish!
Or maybe my new husband just let me think I did.
Fourteen and a half years later, I went fishing on Mother’s Day yesterday.
Let me rephrase that.
I let the six children who came in that fourteen year interval, do the fishing for me. All except for Mr. Fat Squishy . . . he and I ate the chocolate brownies.
My main priority was to hold down the lawn chair. I took my job very seriously and soon discovered it was quite a dangerous career.
When fishing with several Littles, one must be constantly on their guard!
As a Mother’s Day gift to me, I almost received a worm in the ear, a lure in the nose, and seaweed in my lap.
I survived, nonetheless. And basked in the beautiful mountains, crystalline lake, and brilliant sunshine!
Although I did not bask in the slimy worms.
I told the boys that’s why I had boys – to take care of my worms for me!
I hope your Mother’s Day was as sweet as mine – as sweet as the children God has blessed you with!
Happy Mother’s Day!

Happy Mother’s Day to you too! All your blessings look like they were having a wonderful time … precious memories. That last picture had me laughing so hard :).
Fishing is so much better with someone to take care of the worms!!!

That last pic had me chuckling – reminded me when our daughter Regina fell out of the tree and on the way down her dress got caught on a branch and there she dangled like a Christmas tree ornament. Except she was not as calm – lots of noise accompanied it. I stood there just laughing…Years later she told me that made her so mad but that now she could understand my reaction. 🙂
