I am going to share with you an article I read from Tim Challies blog.
There seems to be an evergrowing movement towards hearing God’s voice. Maybe someday I will have the time to share more of our thoughts on this. Although, I suppose we did when we published the post on “Jesus Calling by Sarah Young”. Lowell and Ted Byler both did an excellent job on it. You can read it here.
But this is an excellent article – even though I do not agree with a few of the other theological views held by both Challies and Piper. Yet I feel this article is Biblical and I can relate to having experiences such as this.
One very distinct memory I have was of being in the garden, weeping my heart out with no words to pray . . . and phrase after phrase from Scripture flooded my mind and my spirit. It was an experience I hope I never forget. God’s Word is a living, breathing thing and it is the Holy Spirit which “brings all things to our remembrance.”
God Actually Spoke To Me by Tim Challies
God, who at sundry times and in diverse manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, hath in these last days spoken unto us by His Son, whom He hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also He made the world.”
