I was calmly eating my lunch yesterday at the dinner table, listening to the banter of the kids . . . when it hit me what was sitting next to my salad bowl.
This.
It is a game that the kids made last winter down in the basement – cutting out several different kinds of ships from scrap wood, and making islands for them to take over. And, yes, there is a piece of gameboard missing in the middle – someone used it to make swords.
So as my salad was going down, I began to read this here board. And I became very intrigued . . .
Seriously?!! How do they come up with this stuff?
And by the way, this is made up – all the names of islands, towns, parks, and canyons. However, they did get the idea from a computer game they watched someone play and decided to make their own game from wood!
“Guys that think they’re handsome” City. Whew. At least it didn’t say “girls”. . .
This is one of the ships that can roam the waters, looking for unsuspecting towns of pain or pizza to conquer!
Don’t look now . . . but that little boat just took over Toilet Town. The captain should seriously consider removing from there to Pillow Place. Sounds more sanitary.
I would choose to leave that port there on Ill Island.
This is the equipment, or most of it, that you need to play this here game. They tell me you get money for conquering towns. At least they didn’t raid my purse for actual cash . . . digital money works great!
Aww. The two craftsmen behind this great game. And I am pretty sure the one on the right – with the big grin – was the mastermind behind this! This thing is right down his alley.
So there you go. A crazy, creative game on my kitchen table for days . . . . but you will be glad to know I finished my salad like a good girl. Now maybe I won’t end up on Pain Island.
