My answer:
After child number 2, Terrel, I thought I had an answer for this. We simply put a bandaid on his thumb at night and after a few nights he was cured.
Then child number 5 came along. He has sucked his two middle fingers ever since 3 months old. About a month ago, he hurt one finger and so could not suck them. However, he decided two of his fingers on his opposite hand were just as good.
So now I’m stuck with trying to get rid of this habit. However, I really don’t want to put a bandaid on all ten of his fingers.
Your answers:
Without sounding too desperate, I’d love to know what has worked for you and your child. I will even resort to bribery if it would cure the little tyke of his habit. He is 3 years old and I think it’s time we got rid of it. I’ve heard that age two is when most orthodontists like to see the habit gone.
Let us know your tricks and tips!
Thank you!

I have no answers – since I have two children I’d love to break of the habit!
My mom says that eventually they will get embarrassed and quit – but I’d like them to quit now! Three and five years is long enough!
