We have written on here concerning Ann Voskamp’s One Thousand Gifts, urging readers to use caution and to take all she says back to the Word of God – exactly as we wish you to do with our own posts.
When we came across this three minute video, Lowell and I felt we needed to share it with you. It explains clearly what it means to biblically put “love” and “God” together.
This is put out by No Compromise Radio titled “Loving God is Not Erotic (no matter what Voskamp says)”
(If you are viewing this in the email newsletter, you might need to click here to see the video. Videos don’t always show in emails – sorry!
From Lowell:
The Bible uses the example of a bride preparing to meet and marry her bridegroom, as a type of the church preparing to meet Christ in Heaven. However, nowhere does it advocate any kind of marital (sexual) relations between a human bride and groom before marriage or Christ and the church! It is sound, Biblical reasoning that any erotic love, in either of these relationships, is reserved for after the marriage vows in life and the marriage supper of the Lamb in eternity.

Hi Kendra and Lowell. I fully agree with what you are sharing. Nowhere in the Bible do we find the word “eros”. When it comes to God’s love, it is always the “Agape”, the love that gives, that uplifts, that sacrifices. We cannot bring God’s love to a selfish kind of love. Only love awakes love – we love God because He first loved us. Thank you for sharing this with us. I was unsure about this book, and now I understand more. May our love for God always reflects His Agape love,
Elisabeth

Just want you both to know how deeply thankful I am of your consistent writing about this issue of the New Age. I’m seeing more and more Catholicism creeping into our dear fellowship and it greatly alarms me. We cannot warn others enough. When we think for even a moment that our dear ABBA needs us to pray and fast for HIM! We are in deep spiritual trouble. We are to humble ourselves and pray and fast for the lost souls that need CHRIST. There’s more, but I’m thinking books like this are what is creeping in and causing serious issues. Keep writing. I just made copies of your 3 articles to share with others on a long drive. Pray for our LORD to open eyes!

Oh thank you for this encouragement, Arlene! The devil is working overtime to make us think everything is going well, while he is working behind our backs and among our own people. I will be praying for you on your drive!! God bless.

Kendra, I just wanted to thank you for sharing a warning like this again. The tremendous things that are entering the Conservative Anabaptist churches and are emerging from within, merits an equally tremendous word of warning. God bless!
Kendra says
Thank you so much! I appreciate the encouragement and we are realizing how far-reaching these teachings truly are.

Check out this link here (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e-pQg2vZMTw) for a very important method used today for introducing “emergent church” and New Age concepts into the churches, and without exception Anabaptist churches. It’s called “diaprax”: using a thesis and an antithesis to come up with a synthesis or consensus (which is never the whole Truth of Scripture). It’s the “how do you and you and you feel about this idea?” method that has been ingrained into our Bible Study groups and Sunday School hours. Once you know what it is, you begin to see it everywhere, in government, society, education, and church.
If you want more, check out Dean Gotcher on YouTube. He’s a walking encyclopedia, so it takes a bit of work to digest everything. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_hOzIBEAhwk&list=PLlNRg5pAnXNKzVhKlMdhohBuyBLG99l9G. Apparently this stuff has made its way into homeschooling curriculum. It’s the new Marxism called “Transformational Marxism”, which BTW has infiltrated Anabaptist Christian Counselling as well.
You may have heard of Dave Hunt, who died a couple years ago. Already in the 70’s he was speaking of the New Age entering the church. Well, here it is.
God bless!

Wow! I will most definitely have to check those out. Thank you so much for taking the time to give this information!
Eddie Gutwein says
You’re welcome. Actually, why don’t you try this interview with Dean Gotcher before you do the other series. It’s just over an hour long, and it gives you an overview of the whole thing.

Thanks again!!
