My honey…..
…..and my date.
This date was the first we’ve had in a long while that involved more than shopping for pampers and eating at McDonald’s. We were able to enjoy our hot food while it was still hot and our cold food before it became room temperature.
Nobody needed their diaper changed at 2 am and nobody fell out of bed at 3 am. There weren’t four lunches to get packed and out the door by 7:30 am or wash to be started.
We were plain lazy……and enjoyed it!
We walked along Riverfront Park and stood above the rushing waters of the Spokane Falls. There is a uniquely terrifying feeling I get when I look down through a skinny rail at a roaring river below my feet.
Our God is so big and His creation is so awesome. If I’m awed at the power of all this water slamming against the rocks and hurling over the granite edges, what will it be like when I see the power of God face to face?
Then we strolled through the park in the twilight. I’d like to say it was hand-in-hand……..but I distinctly remember I was busy with the camera while he was consulting Miss ‘Droid about the closest Pizza Hut. Romance takes on a different meaning after 12 years of marriage and 5 children later!
We are of the wild, redneck North Idaho and consider it rather romantic to gaze at the pretty lights of the big city. By the next afternoon, we decided pretty lights or not, our little house up the mountain was looking pretty good.
And those five little munchkins looked even better yet!
Yours truly……..
