We’ve done something we haven’t done since finishing and moving into this house seven years ago. We repainted the kitchen!
This is before.
Yes, it’s messy and breakfast was in progress. But as you can see, the walls were painted a light cream/white to match the rest of the room.
In the midst of painting ….
To me, it looks like a wine color. “Claret” was the actual paint color name. Although I don’t know what it means.
I did shorten this valance a bit. I decided it was time I see more of the view from my kitchen window!
All done! And although nothing is new except the paint – it still feels very much refreshed. 🙂

A pretty kitchen; always makes serving others more fun and seems like less work. Good Job! Mary L.

I like it! {I do so love red in a kitchen}
And ‘Claret’? It’s a type of red wine 😉
You are brave to tackle a project like this while expecting a baby!

Thought that sounded like a wine! And Lowell helped me with this project. Actually, he did 3/4 of it – I mostly taped and trimmed.

A friend told me years ago and I never knew this, but blinds should hang so no light shines thru, so they are just covering the edge of the window! It makes the window appear much larger and it gives so much more view!
Also, add some darling ‘Blue Ridge’ bowls/plates to the walls, it looks like your claret would match their red! I do so enjoy ‘Blue Ridge’ useful bowls and plates!
Claret is my most favorite color, tho I am so old-fashioned as to call it red!!! ;D Love the new kitchen color. Same color as my kitchen!

I love the color! Did you use a textured paint? On the picture of your kitchen window it looks like the paint has a texture.
Kendra Graber says
We have textured drywall – hence the bumpy look!

What brand of paint was this? Love the color!

Oh my. It has been so long ago, I don’t remember! However, I will try to ask Lowell and if he remembers, I will leave another comment for you. I like the color, too!
