I hope you don’t mind . . . but I am going to post pictures of our vacation – while still on vacation. Once I get home, there will be green beans, pickles, gardens and a yard awaiting me. And this blog will take second fiddle.
So I will try to post a few pictures at the end of each day for you to enjoy with us! We’ve already taken way too many pictures as it is . . . and need to share them with somebody.
We arrived last evening and within minutes the children were already in the water and sand.
Dad had discovered where the best cell service is around here — right up next to the water’s edge. So if anybody tries to call or text, I might not get it until I walk down to the shore.
This is the little house we are renting and it is perfect!
I woke to thundering from the loft at 6 am this morning. All because I had promised to take them out first thing in the morning to look for seashells.
Some of us stayed in our pajamas and were still extremely blurry-eyed. Thankfully, I had enough clarity of mind to start the coffeepot before heading down to the beach.
Sunrise on the beach is beautiful.
Little Man needed some nourishment when we arrived back from the seashell hunt.
Derek had also been promised that we’d play a game of Axis and Allies with him while on vacation. Being the normal blonde, I appreciated all the shopping for battleships and stuff . . . but left the conquering of countries to Dad and Derek.
After lunch, we took a few family pictures. While setting up the camera, these two goobers were playing a game of “Who took the flower?”
The Graber family picture of 2015.
God has surely blessed me with a wonderful man!
We decided to do some exploring and left for the Heceta Head Lighthouse.
The drive up Highway 101 is truly breathtaking!

Once we arrived back from the excursion up the coast, we hit the beach – again. This time, we buried a few people in the sand.
Terrel was my awesome construction partner in building a sandcastle. Megan was our water girl and ran to the ocean for us, filling buckets of water. I think we did a pretty good job – considering we are amateurs from the mountains!
Then it was time to come in for grilled chicken, potatoes and peas. Now Dad is out cold on the couch and the mom of this crew needs to clean up supper dishes.
Maybe she can even sneak in a few minutes by herself on the beach . . . watching the waves crash on the sandy shore.
Good night.

The Oregon coast is one of our favorite vacation spots. You should take the kids to see the sea lions on the bay in Newport. Lots of cute little shops too. Have a lovely time.
Blessings,
Betsy

Love seeing sunrises on the ocean…fraid your sunrises have the same dilemma as our sunsets! 🙂
Kendra says
They do at that! But still so pretty.

Loved the OR photos. My husband and I went there i June. We saw whale from the lighthouse! We were celebrating 30 years of marriage! You should try the sand dunes at Florence!

Now that would be spectacular to see a whale!!
