This picture was from last evening . . . but it holds great significance in the life of a certain 5-year-old. He smoked both Dad and Mom in a game of Memory!
This day began like most other days. Somebody was getting beat up, smooshed, or tackled by someone else.
While Dallas took a nap, the kids and I played hooky and took a walk down the beach.
We found this interesting little guy.
Baby belly laughs brighten my day.
The beach is littered with these jellyfish.
After lunch, the kids went swimming and I tried my hand at making a sand sculpture. It was supposed to be a little girl with two braids . . . but ended up looking like Olaf the snowman.
I’m learning to accept my limitations in sand sculpturing.
My sweet princess!
Cinnamon rolls and cold milk in a Coca-Cola bottle.
It’s the stuff vacations are made of.
The kids loved the tidepools!
Thankfully, nobody fell in!
Then it was time to pack up the treasures from our wonderful three days at the ocean!
There have already been some tears that we must leave.
But for me, what I enjoyed the most was watching the waves crash against the rocks that jutted out into the ocean. It reminded me of this quote:
I have learned to kiss the wave that throws me against the Rock of Ages.
~ Spurgeon
And as we leave this beautiful place . . . that is the whisper of my heart.

Your vacation looks like great fun! And in a beautiful area I’d love to visit someday. I was in Oregon about an hour from the coast but didn’t have time to go out since we were there only a few days to shoot a wedding.

I highly recommend it!!

Wonderful! This photo tour of your west coast vacation was next best to being there, too. The sea air must have be rejuvenating. And I love that quote by Spurgeon!! God bless you as you return to busy summer at home again. Also, Happy Belated Anniversary to you and Lowell 🙂
