This was handed in to me over the weekend. Mom was slow in getting it published!! ~ Kendra
Our Week
Well unfortunately, I don’t remember too much of our week except the more interesting stuff. I’ll tell you the more interesting stuff from this week.
On Friday a sad thing happened. We saw a doe lying in our orchard by the road and it was barely alive. Later our neighbor saw it and put it out of its misery. (I looked at it before the neighbor saw it, and it had a splintered leg. The splintered leg looked horrible – we think a car hit the doe during the night.)
On Friday night we saw a beetle 2 inches long without its legs – and 2 1/4 inches with its legs. And right now I’m thinking about how wonderful God made that beetle!
On Saturday evening, we sliced open our pool (it wasn’t a frame pool). It was so neat! My brothers – Logan, Wyatt, and Terrel – lay in the water’s path with swim suits on and literally got swept away by the water. It was funny!!
Also sometime this week (I forget when) we found a kitten about two months old in our barn with our girl cat. That’s all I want to tell you.

Note from Mom:
Just so you know we don’t habitually cut up good swimming pools . . . this pool had had many loving and playful hours put into it. We knew it wasn’t going to last another summer! So Lowell, being the adventurous guy that he is, suggested we slice it to make a big torrent – rather than empty it the normal way with the water spout. We all thought it was a great idea! So that is where these pictures come in . . .
In this picture, they are respectfully listening to Dad give a short funeral speech for this old pool. You will notice the slight smirks on their faces . . .
Then they got to poke holes into it – creating a sieve.
Now the next few pictures will show you the torrent that came. I snapped these in quick succession to get the full picture!
And there we have one boy floating off the edge of the screen . . .
I love seeing the joy on their faces. Childhood should have many happy memories . . . and this will be one of theirs!
