Hi there, cutie.
He was my little buddy as we stood waiting for the sledders to come down the mountain. Somebody needed to be at the bottom to hold off any vehicles going up . . . and to take pictures. That was our job for part of the time. Car stoppers and picture takers.
We could hear them before we could see them coming around the curve!
The ice was actually really, really slick. If my calculations were correct, the oldest there was going approximately 30 mph at one point!
This was a fun ride back up the mountain road behind the Jeep – especially for those who didn’t feel comfortable sledding back down it.
At the top. It was beautiful up there!
See ya at the bottom, boys.
As the afternoon progressed, we were racing against the fading daylight. My camera began having issues with the light going away on me.
Maybe you should caption this one . . .
Headed up yet again!
And back down yet again . . .
Say hello to another one of my cute helpers. He just turned eight Sunday!
Our snow is melting as it’s been close to 40 some days. But we have been enjoying it while we have it!! And most likely, we will receive more.
With the 40 degree weather, you can step outside and it has the feel of spring. Melting snow dripping off the roof, and there is a certain smell to these springish days. Then I walk back inside and the calendar reminds me it’s still only January. A good dose of reality!
Truthfully, we are not done with winter yet. We have more fun stuff to do in the snow, more projects to complete, and more quiet moments to snuggle on the couch.
Happy January!

That looks like so much fun! I haven’t gone sledding in years but used to enjoy it immensely. There was a wonderful sledding hill less than a block from our home in Nebraska when our children were small and we spent a LOT of time there. Thank you for bringing back the memories to me.
Blessings,
Betsy

You are welcome!! The other day (not the one pictured here) I actually went on a runner sled by myself for the very first time – that I can remember anyway! 😉 It was fun….I can see why the kids love it.

It does look like fun. Those boys are really getting tall.

They sure are!

I WANT to go sledding like that. I just can not get playing in the snow out of this “old” body. Even though I hurt my tailbone one year I am always ready to go down the hill again!! Your pictures of snow make me a little envious of you and where you live.

We also enjoy it! If you are going to have snow for months out of the year, you either go into a serious decline – or learn to enjoy it. 😉

I do have 1 question. How did the plastic sled make it down the hill and the turns on the road?
Kendra says
It honestly didn’t do really great! I tried it with one of the boys and we bounced all over the place. 😉 Lowell did a better job of handling it!
