I had a post I have been wanting to put up with cute pictures of my two little sidekicks and all we three get done while the big kids are at school. But our wonderful satellite internet has slowed to a crawl . . . no, make that less than a crawl . . . if our internet had a handcrank I could probably do it faster than this satellite right now. So there went my idea of uploading the cute pictures of my two munchkins and instead I am reduced to marbles and Proverbs 31.
Our Sunday School is going through Proverbs and we’ve almost reached the end. The chapter every woman either dreads or for some strange reason anticipates. Yesterday our Sunday School teacher asked us ladies for a volunteer to teach this great chapter and I had the most low-down, awful thought. Who in their right mind is going to volunteer to teach on Proverbs 31? You sure didn’t see me raising my hand for such a daunting task.
However, the Lord must’ve been reading minds in Sunday School yesterday, and decided He would pick on the woman with the most awful thoughts when she should’ve been applying herself better to the lesson. Therefore, I got caught today and was asked to teach it this Sunday. I could’ve come up with the longest list of excuses why I should not teach this and an even longer list of other ladies who would better qualify. However, I’ve been a Sunday School teacher before and know how much I appreciated other ladies willingly doing it for me. Hopefully my heart will have changed by Sunday and I can do this a little more, uh, willingly.
So I sat down this evening with all my good study books, my Bible, notepad, and pen to start digging in. Then a blanket, a can of marbles, and my littlest love also landed on my lap. Now how is a woman supposed to study about the industrious, virtuous, Godly Proverbs 31 woman with marbles clanging in the can and a soft cheek just begging to be kissed while two big eyes look up at me so expectantly?
I gave in to the soft cheeks and snuggly baby . . . Sunday School will be taught whether I’m ready for it or not. Maybe I’ll just have to give my own Proverbs 31 mom a call for some tips . . . .

I loved the last class you taught Kendra…the interactive lesson revealing “our excuses” for not being hospitable. It was wonderful. You are good at creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. I am sure the ladies will be very willing to share…you are good at drawing feeling out of people (a gift)…I am looking forward to it…The Lord chose well, as far as I am concerned!
