For those of you who noticed there was very little activity on the Shoe blog for several weeks . . . let me quickly reassure you that I am not pregnant. I am not hanging over a toilet bowl with morning sickness! Instead, we have been extremely busy with our annual church campout the third weekend in June, and then left two days later for a 12 day trip to Indiana. We arrived home last Sunday evening and this week has been spent unpacking from the trip, stocking food again in this house, managing the weeds that took over in some places, and getting ready for more company this weekend!
I will put some pictures on the blog as I have time. They will be in parts like we have the previous summer trips. This is my way of saying that I took too many pictures to fit into one blog post!
This trip had been planned for months as a reunion on my side of the family with all my siblings and their children and grandchildren being there. Yes, I do have great nieces and nephews! And they are darling. My folks had first planned for this trip to be a camping reunion at a lake near their place. But when Dad’s open heart surgery happened, we all decided it would be less stress on his recovery to simply camp out at their house. So those of us who lived far away slept in campers or Dad’s house, while those who lived close by went home to their own beds every night.
Now for the pictures . . .
The patriarch and matriarch of this huge clan.
Theses are my folks, Mike and Donna Wray. What you read on this blog is due, in part, to how these two godly parents raised me!
Why do I love this picture so much? We look like such a confused bunch!
“Where’s the boss? Don’t we have a boss around here somewhere? Who do we look at?”
Hang on, folks. We will eventually find a boss . . . but someone has to crack some jokes first!
Finally. A normal picture. This is my immediate family.
Left to right top row:
Krista Bontrager, Me, Coryna Bucher, Matt Wray, and Marc Wray.
Then our folks are sitting down.
In case you are curious, we are standing according to age — beginning with my oldest brother, Marc. We will not disclose any ages or I might find myself disowned. 🙂
The entire clan.
There are approximately 53 of us. I say approximate because I may have miscounted!
This picture took a little while to situate and keep all kids holding still for five seconds or so. Since it is pretty small, I have sliced it in two and zoomed in a bit so you can see the actual faces of these lovely people I call mine!
We are seated according to families, so you can sort of guess who belongs to who.
This picture has Nelson and Krista Bontrager and their clan.
Lowell and I and all our children.
And Keith and Coryna Bucher with their family.
My two brothers each have married children and my oldest brother even has grand kids. Pick your jaw off the floor! I know they don’t look old enough to have grandchildren, but I will let you in on a little secret: my family tends to marry young. There, that should explain the whole young grandpa thing!
Dad and Mom Wray
Matt and Becky Wray and their family
Marc and Jenny Wray and their whole clan as well
Now that you know the players of this story . . . I am going to leave you hanging and take a shopping trip to Costco. Is that not nice of me?! We have out of state company coming this weekend, but I will do my best to get the rest of the pictures put on the blog within the next two weeks. There are many, so be forewarned!
Have an awesome weekend!!
