Saturday morning dawned bright and clear.
Or maybe it was somewhere between humid and humider . . . . this was Indiana after all!
I snapped this picture quickly when Dad stood up before his whole tribe and spoke to us from his heart.
The longer I am alive, the more I understand one thing:
People are precious.
Everyone from your godly parents to the drunk on the curb.
They are all precious in God’s eyes, and so to me – they are also precious.
We try to put up with him. 🙂
Does the word “chaos” mean anything? With so many different schedules and flying times, we only had about a 3 hour window to get everyone in this picture. But we did it!
Never mind the picture.
Let’s go raid the blueberry patch.
That afternoon we took the children swimming at Marc and Jenny’s. Boys got the pool first, and then the girls took over!
Games were a favorite pastime all weekend long.
This was one of my favorites.
Homemade ice cream.
“Marc, did you think I was going to say you?” 😉
Some of us call this sweet lady Mom.
Or Grandma.
Or Great Grandma
Or Great Great Grandma.
This was one job I didn’t envy . . . not in all the Indiana heat.
After supper, it was time for singing and movies at Grandpa’s.
Everyone piled together to watch a couple old films of our family years ago.
Such sweet little faces . . . everywhere you turned.
These two got rather bored with the old-time movie reel, so went out for their own fun.
These guys never seemed to run out of energy for a volleyball or badminton game.
Finally, it was time to watch Matt and his boys blow up some fireworks!
And that is pretty much the end of the second full day . . .
