This will be the last installment of pictures for this trip. Promise ya.
Wyatt and Sophie. He found a new cousin and friend!
And was not embarrassed that she was a girl. . . .
Once our time with my family was pretty much ended, we headed over to Lowell’s side of the family. They live in the same area, so when we take trips to Indiana, we have to squeeze as much family time in as we can within the 6-8 days we are there!
This side of the family did not have huge plans made for the few days we spent with them . . . and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was more laid back since it wasn’t 53 people living together!
Kenny and Genny both did an excellent job at making sure our kiddos had a blast while in Indiana! Kenny took them tubing, Genny took us swimming, and they even let the kids sleep outside on their trampoline a couple nights.
My kiddos think they are pretty awesome!
Megan and Katelyn got permission from Grandma to play with all her extra medical supplies. I’m not sure who was the doctor, although I do know they conned Wyatt into being a patient once.
If the kid was smart enough, he probably paid his fee and never returned . . . .
Rook.
Plus, I had fun watching the newlyweds together! Randall and Althea were married in April and since I have been in the family for almost 17 years now . . . this brother-in-law feels sort of like a son. He was only four years old when I joined the family and I’ve gotten to watch him grow up. He made an excellent choice in his sweet wife!
This was a hot game while we were there!
It’s called “hanging on for dear life.”
Daryn and Randall were showing the boys how to blow something up – before breakfast one morning! Can you tell they have a raptured audience?
Dane is such a sweetheart.
The men were cutting down one of Dad’s trees and roped the kids into helping them!
Frogs. Ugh.
Next subject . . .
My sweet mother-in-law. Doing what she does best – loving on her family! I think she was trying to keep this one warm. The weather was crazy while we were there . . . for three days it kept getting hotter and more humid, then it completely switched and turned cool.
Oh my poor heart. Just look at those fat cheeks.
I had such a fun time squeezing my nephews and nieces and great-nephews and great-nieces. Since my own fat squishies are growing up without my permission . . . I find myself having to adopt any fat squishy that is available!
For Mom’s birthday, we got hot dogs from the hot dog stand and took them to the park.
The kids ate quickly and spent the rest of the time playing in the creek, catching crawdads, or climbing on the jungle gym.
These two became fast friends!
Then, once again, it was time to clean up Grandma’s house and begin the trek home.
2,000 miles of 8 people smooshed inside our Toyota . . .
many pit stops . . . and McDonald’s mcmuffins later . . .
we finally arrived home to sweet Idaho.
If you have not gotten one single thing from these pictures, please remember this:
Take the time to tell your family you love them. Who knows when you might see them again!

Heat? Humidity? Oh, my . . . it is right now in the mid nineties in NE Indiana, with a heat index over 100. I’m glad you made it to Idaho before this hit!
After seeing all of your pictures, I’m dying of curiosity ~ where in Indiana were you, if you don’t mind sharing? I’m northeast of Fort Wayne.
Kendra says
We were near the Kokomo area!

Really enjoyed seeing each of your family members, especially your folks! They were truly a blessing in my younger days as I was growing up in CA. What a joy to all be together.
