I’ve had to ask myself “do my children know how to pray?”
Praying takes teaching and it starts when they are young.
Their little hearts need to know that our great, big God cares about the fact that they are missing that precious Lego piece or that the hamster is having trouble sleeping.
We can think to ourselves that the cares of a four-year-old are pretty small when we look down on them from our adult perspective.
We can think to ourselves that the cares of a four-year-old are pretty small when we look down on them from our adult perspective.
That must be how God views our cares from His perspective.
To Him they are nothing He can’t handle.
The other day, we were talking about something we’d like to do as a family. However, we’d need some funds to do it. So I told the children that they must pray God gives us the money.
In the midst of downing a lollipop, our little 2-year-old “prayer boy” put his sticky hands together and prayed. He had heard the word pray and that’s exactly what he did in his toddler way.

So cute! I love listening to my children pray. I’m determined to get it recorded one of these days! Allison loooves to pray and she’ll go on and on about “the people in jail ’cause they love You and they can’t get out, and all that stuff!” The other evening Diedrick prayed for the children that are poor and just have sticks and stones to play with. And bless the Byler family and all the Earl family. 😉

You should record it! When you’re 80 years old, you’ll be glad you did. 🙂

I love to hear my son pray~ first we do the “Thank you Gods…” then the “Please Gods”~ these are a good baromete of where he stands and how he feels. Also where his real perspective and compassion lie at that moment!

This is so true! The “Thank you Gods” are indicative of a grateful heart.
