Training your children requires two hands. In one hand you must have a strong grip on the seriousness of rebellion . . . and in the other hand you must have a firm grasp on the heart of your child.
I was asked to do a workshop at a ladies retreat in Montana last week. The subject was on Child Training. As I was studying this and putting together some notes, I found myself at a bit of a loss. You see, I’d never done any speaking like this and had no idea how long it would take to get through my notes. So I sat down and recorded myself going through the outline I had prepared for the workshop. It ended up I had to talk fast just to make it fit within the 30-minute time allotment for the workshop.
Thus the idea of a podcast was born.
I thought, “I’ve went to all this work to come up with an outline and notes – why don’t I just put it on the blog?” Kill two birds with one stone, so to speak. Of course, I could have just typed it all up in a long series of posts . . . but that would take quite a while. And folks with short attention spans might wander off amongst my long rantings.
So we will do this in a two-part podcast series. I could have put it all in one podcast, but I’m only allowed to upload files of 64mb at a time. This limits how big of a podcast I can upload. Besides, who seriously wants to listen to me talk for an hour? I don’t even want to do that!
It is in the mp3 format and I hope it works okay for you. Simply click the play button at the top of this post. Let us know if it you encounter problems by using our contact page or messaging us on facebook.
May God bless each of us as we strive to raise our children in His ways!
