Our July garden.
We have lots of green tomatoes that are probably all going to turn red at once.
That should be fun!
I love flowers in the garden!
Next year, I should plant more of them.
The broccoli is almost over with. Our family is sad since we enjoyed our 16 plants of broccoli so very much!
Cucumbers are coming off and we have put up quite a few quarts of pickles already.
We have canned four quarts of green beans so far. So little . . . and yet I’ve had to work so hard to get those precious beans.
I have been surprised at how well our children like zucchini in stir-fry. Maybe healthy eating is worth it after all!
I’ve had a couple dill plants pop up from last year. Fun!
Hungarian wax peppers.
Our peas are winding down – but we have enjoyed them! In fact, Dallas ate so many fresh peas one day that they caused a major messy diaper the next day. Which Daddy had to change since I was doing the mail route. 🙂
I really should not put that smiley face in there . . . but how could I help it when I got a text exclaiming how green peas were rattling around in the bottom of the little guy’s sleeper?!!
The corn is taller than I in some places and we already have some small ears. Just a few more weeks and we’ll be eating fresh corn on the cob.
One of my favorite salads this summer. Fresh from the garden.
1 whole cucumber, sliced
1 small tomato, sliced
chopped red onion
a little mayo sweetened with sugar
Mix it all and refrigerate 30 minutes.
Then sit down and eat the entire thing on the porch . . . in the sunshine . . . with the breeze at your back.
Summers are wonderful!

Oh what a beautiful garden… You’ve had a beautiful crop this year! It has been an amazing year in Idaho for gardening! It looks like you are going to have a great crop of corn too!

Yes, it has been a good year! I’m even thinking tomatoes will do exceptionally well again this summer. Hope yours is doing just as well, too!

Our Indiana gardens have struggled so much due to the flooding this summer, but I’m glad it’s going well there!

Actually, our summer has been probably the driest since we’ve moved out here. I have spent all of July watering and watering! And my garden here still doesn’t look as good as the one at Charles’. I’m thinking I will put a load of manure on it this fall….
