We have had quite the week. Let me describe it to you!
It started off Friday evening a week ago with a wonderful date night with my man!
By that evening it was beginning to snow hard. I think this picture was taken Sunday morning – at which point we had received about 10-12 inches – in addition to what was already on the ground. Don’t quote me, but I’m thinking we started out the weekend with at least a good foot on the ground.
Watch the progression of my garden fence throughout these pictures!
Ok, so Sunday evening we received the biggest snowfall with a total of 18 inches in one night!
This brought our total snowfall for this storm up to around 28 inches!
Monday morning was quite a doozy – some people loved it while some people had issues with it! The postal service had a rough day . . . but they made it through.
This is part of our orchard. These are some of our cherry trees!
Monday morning it was such a fluffy snow – this is what they call powder in North Idaho!!
Everything looked like God had dropped icy white frosting over His creation!
My porch. Again. The snow kept getting higher and higher.
Chickens still need fed.
People still need fed.
I tried my hand at homemade donuts – we made 72 of these delicious pastries! Our neighbor boys were playing in our field with their snowmobiles, so they got to eat a bunch of these as well. This was a real treat!
YES!
My greenhouse made it through.
Wednesday evening we received another 8-10 inches! Honestly, I am so ready for spring that . . . well, never mind. Let’s just say it can’t some soon enough!
My porch. Again.
The snow slides off of the house roof and creates a huge berm right on top of my flowerbeds. Lovely.
One last picture. My garden fence has almost disappeared in one corner!
But thankfully, by the next day it had warmed up and began to rain. In fact, we even saw 43 degrees yesterday! Someone posted a picture on facebook of a fence that was 48″ tall – and the snow had almost reached the top. This has been one incredible winter out here!

We got snow too. But not as much as you!!! Those donuts look delicious.

They were good!! I should make them more often – but probably won’t more than once a year.

Wow that’s a lot of snow! I wonder if we will get anymore snow here. Our temps are warmer but I’m not sure for how long.

I am ready for warmer temps too!

Wow, you did get a lot of snow! We got a lot here, but not nearly as much as you did! Wow, that is crazy about your garden fence. I sympathized with your daughter trudging through deep snow to feed the chickens! And oh my goodness, that is a TON of snow on top of that steep roof! Oh those roofs, all this snow is so exhausting. We finally finished getting all our roofs shoveled off this past weekend. Enjoyed your pictures, but I think the best were your sweet boys enjoying those doughnuts! 🙂

Our family would love to have a snow like that. It looks incredible. We live in northern PA, and get some snow but that would be great. As mom I love how everything is quiet and slows down when it snows. We hope and often pray for more snow. We pray while others are praying for spring. Thanks for sharing your pictures!

You are so welcome!! Snow is beautiful – indeed God made everything good. However, we will be ready once spring arrives!

Well, I would really like to be there just once during one of those Big Ones! It’d take more than a broom to sweep off the sidewalk 🙂 I remember a verse from a song I learned out there…….”The snow comes down with a quiet, quiet, quiet…..showing God’s great love.” (Those doughnuts look super good.)

Thanks, they were very good!! And that is one of our favorite kid songs, too. 🙂
