I have had my itch scratched for a little while now! My classroom itch.
Yes, I was privileged to teach high school at our private church school for the last couple days – and I loved it! High school is so much different from the lower grades. Those freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors are so much more self-motivated than fourth graders! Don’t get me wrong – I love the fourth graders too, but I noticed that I didn’t have to keep prodding them to stick with their work. It’s pretty apparent that, to most of the high schoolers, the end is in sight!
It did much to help reaffirm my belief that the teenage years will be some of the best yet.
Although it was fun, I was not about to confess to the teenagers there that after my thirty minutes of playing volleyball one day, I woke up that night with my arms throbbing in pain. Logan, our second-grader, had been shocked to even see me play volleyball and declared I was too old! The next morning at breakfast, when I told him how my arms hurt, he had to do the I-told-you-so thing. However, I still refused to believe I was too old and even tried my hand at frisbee football yesterday. Truthfully, I mostly wandered around the field trying to remember who was on my team.
In other news . . .
we are almost done with our fruit!
We’ve only got some drying of apples to do and then we can say fruit is over for the year.
Do you remember that “Demons In the Church” book I mentioned here? We were talking about it in Sunday School class last Sunday and some of the ladies wanted to read it. So I am posting that link here. I also am borrowing the hard copy and hope to get the entire book read soon!

I’ve also got this book on my “to read” list this winter. It’s written by Pastor Gary Gilley and I’ve read some of his articles which are excellent. You can purchase it on Amazon.
This Little Church Went To Market is part of a trilogy that was recommended to me. If I get it read, I hope to do a review on it here at the Shoe!

Lowell told me about an article he found extremely interesting. It was interesting to me that the same article came into my email inbox a week later via The Berean Call. Yet I have been so busy, there has not been much extra time to read it. Instead, I let it sit in my inbox so I didn’t forget about it.
Read it with me . . . it’s called Is Your Church Worship More Pagan Than Christian?
One more goodie before I leave you alone!
Warehouse Fabrics is giving away $50 of fabrics this month!
I love giveaways like this, and I love this little shop too. It’s easy to enter, just follow their directions.
May God bless you this weekend!

I love getting a peek into yourlives! I also love Dallas’ hair. Makes me not feel so alone in my refusal to give Carter a real haircut yet!

😉 I have it on my agenda to put his hair into two pigtails today, take a picture and send it to the grandmas! Then I might trim the front and sides just a little, but his curls are way too cute to cut them off yet.

Good idea, Kendra 🙂 I think Carter and Dallas definitely look like cousins.
