School started this week!
The beginning of school always holds mixed emotions for me. Excitement for my children, because I remember how I loved school (still do, but I’m too old to go now)! And a sigh of relief that my children, who start getting bored around the middle of August, now have a schedule in their lives.
I was privileged to watch a few of the sessions via Livestream from the Berean Conference last weekend. This is one excellent session given by Warren Smith called “Truth – The Whole Truth”.
I urge you to take the time to listen to it. You will be blessed!
There have been several excellent, insightful articles to hit my email inbox the past few weeks. And I’d like to share them with you!
- Is Beth Moore’s “Spiritual Awakening” Taking the Evangelical Church Toward Rome? by Lighthouse Trails
- Brennan Manning: False Teacher? Or Solid Christian? by Reformed Nazarene
- Africa – Purpose Driven Continent in 2015? by Holy Bible Prophecy
This is a book on my reading list for the winter. Have any of you read it? It came highly recommended, and I aim to read it soon.
You can purchase it on Amazon. This is their description:
What should a Christian do with Jesus words, Love your enemies? Is it all right for a Christian to go to war? Doesn t a Christian have an obligation to defend his country?
Dean Taylor and his wife Tania were both in the U. S. Army when they realized that, as committed Christians, they had to come to grip with these questions in a new and sincere quest for truth. They were determined to follow Jesus Christ under the banner of no compromise. As they began to search the Scriptures and church history, they came to the startling discovery that the Christian Church originally was uniformly opposed to Christians going to war or joining the military.
In A Change of Allegiance, Taylor takes the reader on a moving journey through the Scriptures, Christian history, and his own life s story demonstrating the incompatibility of Christianity and war. Ultimately, Taylor challenges his readers to consider where their allegiance really lies.
Demons in the Church by E. H. Skolfield
I read the conversation of some folks talking about this book on facebook and wanted to read it. It is no longer in print, but the author gave this website permission to upload the html version.
If you’ve ever wondered what I Corinthians 11:10 means, “For this cause ought the woman to have power on her head because of the angels,” then you will be interested in this free online book!
As a type of the church, women have the awesome
responsibility of showing the spiritual condition of the
church to the unseen spirit world!Christians cannot be free from direct demonic attack,
nor can the church prevent a demonic invasion,
if we do not obey the ordinances of God
that limit the enemy’s freedom to attack us!
I have only gotten about halfway through the book, but have enjoyed it immensely. It was an interesting read while Lowell was gone hunting!
Until next week,
