You want to know what I love most about Christmas?
Without this Baby, my soul would be damned to eternal hell. Without this Savior, I would never get to see the Father. Without the Risen Lord, I would be forever lost.
But there are no “withouts”.
The Baby came, the Savior died, and the Lord is risen.
I’ve recently had to think about why I do the things I do for others. And it’s because of this Baby. Because my Savior loved me with such an incredible love . . . I will love the ones He has put in my life.
Because He left Heaven’s glories to come and serve me . . . I will serve these people around me. There is no other explanation than to say that once I truly see my soul for how worthless it is without Him . . . then He has my undying devotion. I will love who He calls me to love. I will serve who He calls me to serve. I will forgive – because He asks me to.
It is not for them that I do anything. It is for my Savior alone. It is for my King. So you see, this love for this Baby needs somewhere to go.
I John 4:11
Beloved, if God so loved us,
we ought also to love one another.
This love. This Baby.
This is Christmas to me.
