It’s been all over the news and social media. Ashley Madison. Adultery. Pornography. Steamy affairs. Crushed homes and devastated wives. Children who no longer can trust their daddies.
If all you read is the news, you would think all men are unfaithful. That none can live righteously in this godless world. You would begin to believe that hope is lost, the gospel is not relevant, and that there is no more “power in the blood”.
But that is a lie the devil would like us to swallow – hook, line and sinker.
For every unfaithful man I have recently heard about . . . I can count numerous other men who have been faithful to their wives and children, their vows before God, and to God Himself.
It’s just that these faithful men have been forgotten.
Faithfulness doesn’t make front page news. Nobody is scrambling to tell the latest story of the man who chooses not to look at pornography. Or all the men who didn’t sign up for an Ashley Madison account. All those men who willingly live out faithfulness – even when we women may not deserve it.
These men are my heroes.
I choose not to dwell on the ones who have been unfaithful, but to support and encourage the faithful ones. Even those who may have fallen, yet continue on in the grace of the Gospel. These are the men we women need to remember.
To my fellow ladies . . .
Let us not judge all men by one.
Let us not forget the faithful ones we rub shoulders with every single day.
Let us extend grace and forgiveness to those who do fall – and then encourage them to be faithful.
Let us not become so focused on how we women have the potential to be hurt . . . but do all we can to not give our husbands reasons to hurt us.
To you faithful men . . .
I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
You are the ones I can point my young sons to as leaders and examples of strong, Godly men.
You may not be noticed by the media, but you are noticed by faithful women. Women who support you, pray for you, and rally behind you.
