I can’t believe I am going to say this . . . but I am almost ready for winter. Winter where I sit and get bored. Where I actually have time to write, play games, learn a new piano piece, or knit. Actually, I don’t even know how to knit and don’t really care to learn! 🙂 I just thought it sounded very “Mennonitish”.
Fall is a busy time for us since all the fruit is coming off of our trees. We have canned 76 quarts of pears, dried quite a few gallons of plums, and now we are starting on apples. Tomatoes also got ready later this year, so I was doing my best to squeeze salsa and pizza sauce in there, too.
As of yesterday, my gardens are ready for snow! The kids and I pulled the rest of the plants out and there is not much but weeds and a few mutilated cornstalks left. I really – REALLY – should celebrate. Chocolate sounds like a nice way to celebrate!
I have a few random pictures from the last several weeks (or months – don’t make me admit it has been a while). If any of you wish to see more pictures, I have been posting more to Instagram, which then shares it to the Facebook page. Smartphones actually have some good perks . . . like keeping folks updated with minimal effort!

September 18 was Derek’s 15th birthday and also his baptism! I was a puddle during most of the service. My heart was so full of thankfulness that my children walk in truth. God has been so gracious to me.
If you wish to hear the baptism service, we have audio of all our Sunday services on our church website. You can hear the service for baptism by clicking here.
My heart has been burdened with so many people to lift up to the Throne lately. Sometimes I must pause and remember that I am here to praise Him. If you get a chance, listen to this song >>>> 10,000 Reasons.
And in going to battle for others who need a warrior beside them, this is a verse I love!
“And all this assembly shall know that the Lord saveth not with sword and spear: for the battle is the Lord’s, and He will give you into our hands.”

Thanks for the link to your baptismal services! Grandpa & I heard Derek’s testimony. It was next best to being there.

Oh I’m so glad you could hear it, Mom! It was so special . . . .I never realized before what the parents went through on baptism day.
