An exciting change is headed our way!
I’d like you to welcome the Grandmas.
They are going to be helping me out on this little blog with some various areas of expertise. There are many areas of life where I need some advice, some tips, and more information. These precious mothers of mine have agreed to impart some of their wisdom with me, and all of you! Of course, they wouldn’t call it wisdom, but I treasure real-life experiences from older women. Older women should be honored, revered, and respected by us younger ones since these faithful ladies have surpassed many tests we have not yet faced. They are open to share anything they feel is pertinent but I have encouraged them to share in areas they enjoy and feel most comfortable in.
So come with me while I introduce these wonderful women to you!
Grandma Laura is my sweet mother-in-law. She and Dad are the ones responsible for the awesome man I married! We’ll call her Grandma Laura on here and the area that she has agreed to share with us will often have to do with natural ways of healthy living. Now this is not the only area she could give us much advice in since she has successfully raised eight children! Grandma Laura loves to share anything healthy, natural, and homemade.
Lowell got this unique gene from his mother. Those two can debate the evils of hydrogenated oils, the cure for Hashimotos, and how much boron to have in your diet for so long that I begin looking for the cookie bucket. They both research and read lots of information, and they also are their own laboratories. Just about every single thing they recommend has been tried out on themselves first!
Grandma Laura is also a registered nurse, so she combines medical knowledge with natural health. She has her own homemade soap business, which we all love around here! One of my favorite items that she hand-makes is her lip balm. Best ever! We can’t get enough of it.
I think you will all love Grandma Laura! She has been one of the best mothers-in-law I could have asked for.
Now I’d like to introduce my own sweet mother, Grandma Donna. Yes, this is the wonderful lady who I look like, act like, and think like! She is the one for whom I was called, as a 7-year-old, “Little Donna.” I love my mother! She has taught me more than she will ever know.
And now she has agreed to pass on some of that wisdom to you all.
Grandma Donna will often be sharing her advice on training up children in the ways of the Lord, how to keep a home, and being a godly wife. She is a minister’s wife, has successfully raised five children, is a grandmother to 31 precious souls, and great-grandmother to 3 more precious souls! So she will speak of life from experience. Of course, if she starts recounting my childhood escapades, I might have to do some editing! Just kidding, of course.
I think you will also love Grandma Donna! Her Godly example has been a challenge to me many times. Dad and Mom instilled within me a love for the truth, a love for God’s Word, and a desire to follow Him all my days. I look forward to her posts since I am right in the thick of things with training up my own children and could use her Godly advice!
The Grandma Column will run about twice a month this winter. I don’t want this to become a burden to them, so we’ll test it out over the winter and see where we’re at by spring. Summers seem to be such a busy time for all of us, that blogging might get slowed down again.
So will you welcome the grandmas with me?
I’m willing to share them with you and I’m sure you’ll love them!
