Each of us will take away something different from 2020. Maybe we are thankful it is almost over. Maybe we are simply more thankful.
Many good things have come from the chaos this year. Yes, it has been fearful, but God has shown Himself able to work amidst that fear. It has been full of lies and deceit and not knowing who to believe. But God has once again shown He is the source of all truth.
Besides, it is not chaos to God. He sees it from above, where peace reigns supreme. We can trust Him.
Someone gave me the idea last Christmas to leave a little basket on the porch for our wonderful package carriers with goodies for them to take. Simply as a “thank you” for all the long hours they put in – especially when it gets dark by 4 something in the north! And with all the online shopping we’ve been doing in 2020, they are getting hit extra hard this year.
Our postal service, UPS, and FedEx men and women might just need a smile today. It is fun to watch through the window to see them pick through the treats! You could even slip some Gospel tracts in there – I will see if I can find where mine are.
This is just one simple way to give this year. Maybe there is someone that your food bank knows who could use an extra hand, extra food, extra joy. Jesus shared Himself with us; let’s share Him with others.
I’ve made it into a printable you can download and print off in your home. I slipped mine into a plastic sheet protector since we can get blowing snow here in the Pacific Northwest. I’ve also left a blank space where you can write in your own name.
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

This is a great idea. When we lived in California, at Christmas we would leave a gift bag for our mail carrier who was just as sweet as can be.
