He teaches me chess. And since I never learned chess, I am an easy and gullible victim.
We seem to make up our rules as we go.
If one of my big boys played me, they would think all I did was cheat. It’s hard to know what the rules are when my 5-year-old hasn’t much of a better idea either. But at least we are both happy in our naivete.
Sometimes it leaves my head spinning. But at least I have a lovely coffee mug to console me.
Two of our boys purchased a 3D printer and made up these chess pieces. It makes them even more special. Now if they could only make something that guarantees a win . . .
“Take a picture of me falling, Mom!”
All I got was feet.
So we tried a different way.
He is my sweet, little buddy who is heading off to kindergarten in a few short months.
So we try to squeeze in more chess games . . . where I lose miserably.
But at least I lose happy.

Wow those 3D printers are impressive! My husband Tim tried to teach me how to play chess but I never got the hang of it. I can barely play checkers.

🙂 That sounds much like me!

How fun! My 5 year old (and the 10 year old) begs to play with me but I barely know how to play either! I usually talk them into Skip-bo or Dutch Blitz instead and that makes them happy. 🙂

Dutch Bliz is such a fun game!

Tell the boys I’m impressed with those chess pieces they made. Quite talented– or a good teacher, huh? Love, G’ma Wray
