Boys Camp
Our second son, Terrel, was in Idaho Wilderness Boys Camp this year. It ran from July 19-August 2. Two long weeks that we missed him! However, he was so excited to go that it made me not worry about him much at all. I love to see the enthusiasm for braving the wilderness and learning to be a man!
In these pictures, we had just finished feeding his group breakfast before they headed into high country for 6 days. I had signed up at the beginning of camp to feed a group – not knowing it would be Terrel’s group. We were delighted to learn he would be coming home for breakfast halfway through camp! It was definitely a surprise to him, too.
The second picture is following breakfast when the group and chiefs all wanted to weigh their packs. I’m not sure if it hurt them or helped them mentally to know how much weight was on their backs before they headed to the high mountains.
Bit of Summer
Summer is full of sunshine and relaxation – usually. Building this spec home has given the boys less time to relax and pursue summer hobbies, but they do love the paychecks! Some afternoons we will pile in the Toyota and head to a mountain lake to swim – one of our favorite things to do in the summer heat.
However, in this picture, I had given permission for the children to flood the sandbox. They then proceeded to cover each other in mud!
My baby. I suppose I can call him that on here until he learns how to read this blog. I will miss him when school starts next month – but he is so ready for first grade. We even sat down with some of our kindergarten readers one afternoon and (hallelujah!) he still remembers how to read!
The Spec Home
The house is coming along beautifully! The soon-to-be-owners have been able to choose colors, cabinets, light fixtures, and many other parts to their home. It is fun to watch it come together from more than just a hole in the ground that it was 4 months ago.
The smallest construction worker on site.
These pictures are of the kitchen side of the great room. Counter tops are coming soon!
The Great Room. They have been working on putting the tongue & groove on the ceiling. Looks nice to me!
That awesome window is one of my favorite things about this home.
These two pictures are of the master bathroom. The tile is in the process of being laid down. I am sure it will look much different when it’s all finished!
I hope you all are enjoying your summer . . . it goes way too fast around here!
