Wray cousins. A whole pile of them. From the cute and cuddly to the tall and ornery.
We spent several days with my side of the family, the Wrays. There are a whole bunch of children all close in age and never a dull moment.
In fact, the excitement continues throughout the night. We had three tents, one for big boys, one for young girls and one for young boys. Plus a camper full of big girls. On the first night, two out of three tents almost emptied. It was rather memorable, to say the least.
These two had a blast together. I love seeing cousins having fun, especially since we only get the chance every couple years. I took these two on a walk down to the creek and learned about some kind of “chub” fish. Who knew there was such a thing!
With that many children together, there was almost always a game going on somewhere. Either in the corner of the house or outside on the lawn. It was a busy, busy place.
They enjoyed volleyball and Grandma’s board games. Plus the big girls came up with fun activities for all the children to do together – such as wading pool kickball!
The patriarch and matriarch.
One manned the grill, the other the kitchen. And many little people besides.
I love these two so very much.
If you were lucky, you might find a lazyboy unoccupied. It was first come, first serve.
All those short nights and activity nonstop wears a person out!
One evening the great grandchildren were over for supper and pinata time! There was a pinata for the little girls and one for the little boys.
I personally love the picture of all the candy trading going on afterwards. Pretty sure they got that trading gene from their fathers.
Grandpa was working on his bluetooth with the big boys. It’s crazy how quickly the little boys grew up into young men that tower over some of us! Sigh. Where does time go? Before I know it, I will be a grandma. But a very very happy grandma!
Oodles of food. Oodles of cousins. It made for an awesome vacation.
My sweet mother and sisters planned the meals and I pitched in when I could. But that takes some real organization skills to feed that many people 3 times a day.
My mother is the queen of organization. I know, because I looked in her closets. They are things of beauty.
Long jump time. This started out with all ages . . . even some of us old people. But the big boys quickly showed us they had the upper hand here.
It was highly entertaining! The rest of us cheered them on while the dog mostly ran away with their socks.
These two were the ones in the final round. When they got to the end, they had jumped about 14 feet. We were impressed . . . which must have been their intention, right? Why else would you be willing to slam your body into the dirt?
I just love the grandpa look . . . with the glasses. Wicked of me, I know. But isn’t it nice to have siblings that get older along with you?
Oh yeah, I love my brother, too!
I absolutely love this bunch. This sweet and crazy bunch.
The first picture are the ones we call The Triplets. They were born in stair steps, around 6 weeks apart.
Then come the little people. Next the bigger girls and finally their macho big brothers – trying to lift Terrel up so he was their height.
Blessings from the Lord. Every last one of them.
It was a sweet and lovely time with family. A time to connect amidst the craziness in our world today . . . and to remember there are people serving our Lord in the Midwest, just like we do in north Idaho.
May you all have a wonderful summer – enjoy it while it’s here!

I loved seeing the pictures of both families. It’s so nice to see all you all having fun and enjoying each other even though the world is crazy. Are all the members of both families believers?
Kendra says
