This recipe is a staple in my kitchen. In fact, my 7 and 10 year-old boys recently discovered it and after guzzling it for two days straight, I put the brakes on. My can of mix was dwindling fast. They are now allowed one cup per day of my cappuccino mix.
So if my kids like it, then I’m sure you’ll like it!
We love this in cold weather, and hot weather. It’s a ritual with me to get up first thing in the morning and patter my way out to the kitchen in my hot pink, fluffy robe. Yes, it’s truly hot pink and so fluffy it makes me look like I gained 20 pounds overnight! But my last concern at six in the morning is whether or not I’m in the height of fashion.
Where was I? Oh yeah. In front of the coffeepot.
I like to make a weak coffee for this mix instead of using water. It gives it even a stronger coffee flavor and there’s something about hearing the coffee maker at six am that makes me very happy indeed.
You can tweak the flavored creamers to suit your taste. And in place of the Nesquik, we use our own homemade chocolate milk mix. By the way, did you know that is what The Shoe is known on Google for? Google is a funny thing. But that is the number one search by which folks find this blog on Google – homemade chocolate milk. Proves how desperate people are for yummy chocolate milk, I guess!
On to the recipe so I can get out of my hot pink robe now folks.

Homemade Cappuccino Mix
Mix together:
25 1/2 oz. powdered milk
27 oz. hot cocoa mix
15 oz. flavored creamer
4 oz. regular creamer
1 1/2 cups instant coffee
1 1/2 cups sugar
1/4 cup Nesquik (or our own homemade chocolate mix)
Mix well and use 3 tablespoons per cup of boiling water. Adjust to your own taste – some like it strong and some like it stronger!
