I said last week that I’d do my best to get some pictures up for you soon. And here are a few! But these first few were taken a week or two ago.
It’s crazy how little I use my camera these days. When will life slow down?
It’s funny that I even ask that question. When it’s really up to me at how much fills my days.
I’ve been reading some articles on how the French live and eat. And even how their public school cafeterias work! Puts my kitchen to shame. Did you know they take an hour to hour and a half in sitting down and eating a meal together? I wonder if my high-energy boys would go for this . . . .
The French folks aside . . . we are immensely enjoying springtime! This lovely pear tree is finally rewarding us with a few buds.
Our little ladies are happy in their sunshine, too. And they are let free in the afternoons and evenings to roam the grass, looking for bugs.
Dallas was intrigued by this bee on my daffodil. He was astonished that it was actually alive!!
Yesterday, Lowell took the children back to the woods to hunt for mushrooms. This is one of their favorite Sunday afternoon outings for this time of year. And this year, they fried the mushrooms up by themselves!! Well, mostly. Mom did have to remind them of a few things . . . like cleaning up their mess.
But they had fun doing it!
Not sure they liked how messy they had to get in order to bread the mushrooms.
Our oldest, Derek, was the frying man – usually this is Dad’s job. But hey . . . we are working ourselves out of certain jobs!
The pictures you saw above with the orchard were taken over a week ago. Now this was today! Isn’t it crazy how quickly it can green up? We had some really warm days last week with the temperatures stretching up to about 80 on Friday!
Finally, we can put our snow boots away.
Have a wonderful Monday!

Hi Kendra, I just got back from Alaska where our youngest son got married. We have eight children and I so enjoy reading your blog. They are all married now except one. so yes, enjoy your little ones at home while you can. We have 17 grand children already. And you get to see the twins each week. Thank you for the times you have helped when I couldn’t. Wilma Christner
