Baby Dallas is walking!
Finally.
My babies have been late walkers, with my earliest being around one year old and the latest 20 months. Dallas is falling into the latter category and started walking good about 3 weeks ago, making him about 18-19 months old before walking.
But at least we finally got there!!
I guess God knew I needed this little guy to stay a baby longer than the others . . .
Now to put my running shoes on.

- Calvinism Critiqued by a Former Calvinist
More than that, the doctrines frequently create a spirit of division, elitism and theological snobbery. The system erects walls between believers. It creates a class of Christians within the church general who are supposedly part of a worthy “inner circle.” . . . . May our brethren see fit to adopt a Berean spirit (Acts 17:11) and honestly rethink their Calvinism. We would urge them to, for a time, lay aside the commentaries of Calvin and Gill, the theology of Warfield and Hodge. With an open Bible and mind, may they take a second look at the so-called “doctrines of grace” to see if they truly are the doctrines of Christ.
Note: This is a long article, and so I haven’t had the time to read all the way through it. But it piqued my interest since you must dig for articles like this one – they won’t show up in your facebook newsfeed very often!
Note: We recently watched the movie “God’s Not Dead” and while we agreed with the premise, we were left with a bad feeling when the movie ended by glorifying the Christian rock band “Newsboys”. In this article, one of the founders reveals how he became an atheist. These are his own words: “I Co-Founded One of the Most Popular Christian Rock Bands Ever… and I’m Now An Atheist.”
Sad, indeed. Our discernment should not extend only to what we read or watch, but also to the music we listen to.
Fun stuff
If you want a taste of our evenings . . . here’s a peek! And for the grandmas, it will also be on Youtube if you wish to view it again, and again, and again. This passle of goobers does contain some of your genes, you know. 😉
This video is one Lowell was showing to the kids and we all got interested watching it. It has to do with shooting bow – which our boys are really into! And so is their papa. 🙂
No, this is not a current photo of our washline. But some days I get the most awfulest spring fever and can hardly wait to put my wash on the line! (Yes, I am fully aware that “awfulest” is not a word – but since I don’t have a teacher looking over my shoulder . . . . )
I guess you know you have it bad when thoughts of tomato cages fill your mind at 5 am!
These two are the nuttiest Rook players you will ever encounter! Right now they have their “game face” on. But believe me, the seriousness can only last a few seconds . . .
Was I right or what?!
Some game nights, Derek and I are ready to give up on them. But they do bring a whole lot of laughter into our lives!! So we keep on putting up with these two goobers . . .
There is still time to enter your “surviving miscarriage” story into Silent Grief. However, we are moving the closing date for entries to February 20 instead of March 1. Click here to enter.
And a huge thanks to those of you who have allowed me a peek into your hearts and stories already!
I am loving these days . . . and nights . . . of noise, fun and laughter! Someday it’s going to be way too quiet around here – and I’ll be one to check myself in to the looney bin.
Angel wings and pajamas.
Or maybe those are chicken wings . . .
Have a great weekend!
And try not to lay too many eggs. 😉
